Michael was born and raised in the Camberley area, and has become a trusted and respected member of the local community.
Starting out as an estate agent, Michael then became a financial advisor and founded Michael Usher Mortgages in 1993.
Fun, friendly and driven in equal measures, Michael is a natural leader who strives to provide an honest and valuable service to his thousands of happy customers.
Also a DJ and a sports fan, Michael loves to get involved with local events and support our wonderful charities. You’ll even find him refereeing local football matches from time to time!
Mitch is Michael’s step-son and he joined the family business in 2011. An experienced Mortgage and Protection Advisor, Mitch also
has superb managerial skills, creating a happy work environment for our team whilst instilling a customer-first mentality.
Mitch is extremely approachable and friendly and is known for making our customers’ experience as straightforward and stress-free as possible.
When Mitch isn’t hard at work, you might find him at White Hart Lane supporting Spurs. And when he’s not at the football, Mitch likes to get out and see the world – his number one recommendation is the beautiful Khao Sok in Thailand, apparently it’s a must!
Steph has been with us since 2017 and she was promoted to Senior Operations Manager in 2023. Starting out as Michael’s right-hand woman, she’s now responsible for keeping many different parts of the business on track. She’s essentially the glue that holds Michael Usher Mortgage Services together!
What else do you love doing Steph?
“When I’m not in the work zone (1%) of the time 😅.. you’ll find me socialising with friends at my local pub & Italian restaurants or frequenting a class at the gym. I also have three little nieces who keep Aunty very busy”
After an impressive career as a Mortgage Advisor for banks and estate agents, as well as a stint in retail management, Mark was a welcome addition to our team. Known for his honest, clear advice and an approachable personality, Mark is great at instilling confidence in his clients and guiding them through the mortgage process smoothly.
What else do you love doing Mark?
“I’m an avid Brentford FC fan, and I also coach my son’s local football team. Other hobbies include golf and jumping out of planes (with a parachute on)!”
Coming from an extensive career within the Financial Sector, Lisa is very much an all-rounder; having qualified as a Mortgage &
Protection Advisor, a Will Writer & Estate Planner, and becoming a specialist in Equity Release.

Sean is an experienced Mortgage Advisor and we’ve been fortunate enough to have him on our team since 2014. With a big focus on his client’s circumstances and objectives, Sean is passionate about finding the perfect product for every situation; earning him an excellent reputation.
Highly experienced in helping First Time Buyers, Help to Buy, and people with adverse credit; Sean is also a Later Life Lending Specialist, helping people get the most out of the equity in their homes.

“I’m a big Liverpool fan. I also like to keep fit at the gym and then relax with a movie, my favourite film has to be Heat!”
Joanne joined Michael Usher Mortgage Services in 2020 and is fast becoming one of our top mortgage advisors. She has a real knack for the job and consistently receives great feedback from our clients!
What else do you love doing Joanne?
“In my spare time, I love going out on muddy walks with my twin boys, stepdaughter, husband, and our chocolate Labrador called Dave! I also enjoy spending time with friends, ideally over a pub lunch with a glass of wine or two!”
Sam joined the Basingstoke office after working for 7 years for Santander, so he brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team.
His friendly demeanour and approachable nature help him to build strong relationships with all his clients.

“I love spending time with my son, supporting Crystal Palace, and travelling to new destinations… my favourite being Thailand so far!”
Vicki joined us in 2018 after 12 years working for an estate agency, gaining invaluable insight into the sale and purchase conveyancing process. Starting with us as a Mortgage Administrator and then a Paraplanner, Vicki has passed her CeMAP and is now a Mortgage & Protection Advisor. Vicki displays exceptional customer service, with a strong ‘treat others how you would want to be treated’ attitude.

“I enjoy swimming and travelling. I try to put my hand at baking but the finished product doesn’t always look like it should!”
Biva has been with us since 2012 and she is known for her passion and friendly nature, always providing a high-quality service and looking after her clients from start to finish.
Biva was once an English teacher and radio presenter in her home country Nepal, and she is a respected member of the British Gurkha community.

“I love music and travelling, Prague is my favourite city. I also like taking part in charity events as often as possible.”
After 3 years in sales, Sujit joined the company in 2018 as a paraplanner. He has completed his CeMap and training and is now a fully qualified mortgage and protection advisor. Sujit is highly competent and has a natural flair for the job.

“Having graduated in sports science, my love of sports is still strong. I mainly follow rugby, tennis, and I’m a devoted Liverpool FC fan!”
With a wealth of experience behind her across various industries, Sima joined Gurkha Mortgages as a paraplanner in 2021 and qualified as a Mortgage and Protection Advisor in 2026. She has proved to be an essential member of the advisory team, bringing a high level of expertise and dedication to her own growing client base. Sima manages the process with professionalism and care, ensuring that every customer receives a bespoke service tailored to their specific needs.
What else do you love doing Sima?
“I absolutely love travelling and I try to get away at least twice a year. One of my favourite places so far is Bali in Indonesia… I can’t wait to get back there one day!”
Anna is one of our longest-serving Mortgage Administrators, and with over 17 years in the industry, she has developed an exceptional ability to navigate complex mortgage processes with efficiency and precision. Clients value Anna for her clear communication, reliability, and proactive approach and she takes great pride in ensuring every client is kept well-informed and supported throughout the entire mortgage journey.
What else do you love doing Anna?
Outside of work, Anna enjoys spending time in her garden in the sunshine. She also enjoys spending quality time with her family, two grandchildren and her dog.
Karen has always worked within the financial sector, both for mortgage brokers and insurance providers. Known for her truly excellent customer service, she always builds trusting relationships with her clients and gives each one her full attention and expertise

After studying Management and Tourism at the University of Surrey, Dawn pursued a career as a pension and investment paraplanner. She has worked in the financial sector since 2005 and brings a wealth of invaluable experience and knowledge to the team.
What else do you love doing Dawn?
“Outside of work, I enjoy spending time walking with my dogs and catching up with friends. I’m also a regular at the gym and love staying active. Family and friendships are really important to me, and I always look forward to holidays where I can relax, recharge, and make new memories.”
Having previously worked in administration and customer service, Natalie joined us in 2021 as our receptionist. After successfully completing her training, she is now a fully qualified Mortgage and Protection Paraplanner in our Camberley office and is doing a great job!

“I like to spend time on the weekends going for a lovely walk with my partner, little boy and dog. These are even better when the sun is shining and it’s nice and warm!”
Paige joined the Michael Usher Mortgage Services team in 2020 and quickly became an integral part of the team. With strong organisational skills and a keen eye for detail, she manages mortgage applications from start to finish, ensuring everything runs smoothly. By supporting our advisers every step of the way, Paige helps deliver real value to our customers and keeps things moving behind the scenes.

Iwona joined us in 2024 as a welcome addition to our friendly team of mortgage and protection paraplanners. Her background is in banking and includes a decade working at Barclays Bank. After Barclays, Iwona made a career change only to find she missed the office environment and the world of finance, which is what thankfully led her to us!
What else do you love doing Iwona?
“I enjoy weight training in the gym, walking my Frenchie, and taking trips to the coast. I also love socialising with friends over dinner and having a cheeky glass of G&T!”
Alessia joined the team with a natural flair for customer service. From greeting clients in reception to supporting them through their mortgage transactions, she is dedicated to making every journey as smooth as possible.
What else do you love doing Alessia?
“In my spare time, you’ll usually find me training for my next marathon, lifting weights in the gym, or studying for my degree in Psychology and Criminology. I also love heading to the local pub to catch up with my friends!”
Having previously worked as a Healthcare Assistant and then as a Sales Executive for life science conferences, Sagun joined our Gurkha Mortgage team as a Mortgage & Protection Paraplanner. With a degree in Biomedical Science and hands-on lab experience during a placement year, she brings a strong analytical background and attention to detail to the role.
What else do you love doing, Sagun?
“I’m absolutely obsessed with cats! In my spare time, I love taking my cat out for walks and getting creative with nail art.”
Jyoti brings a professional, organised, and detail-oriented approach to the team, drawing on a diverse background in mortgage processing, operations, and human resources. Having previously excelled as a Loan Processing Specialist for an Australian mortgage firm and as an Operations and HR Officer, their strong communication and problem-solving skills are a fantastic asset to our daily operations.

“Outside of work, I enjoy travelling, hiking, sketching, and painting. I find inspiration in nature and especially enjoy spending time in the mountains, while painting helps me relax and recharge creatively.”
With a BA (Hons) in TV Production and an MA in Media & Communications from Bournemouth University, Jay has developed a strong passion for creativity and always has an idea ready to bring to life.

“In my spare time, I like to keep fit through weight training at the gym and walking my dog, Blu. I also enjoy staying up to date with the latest social media trends and celebrity gossip.”
Debbie began her career in banking before qualifying as an advisor in 1997 and joining Michael Usher Mortgage Services. She is now our longest-serving member of staff and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team. She manages our Accounts Department as well as our main office on Saturdays. Debbie is friendly, approachable, and is known for her impeccable attention to detail.
What else do you love doing Debbie?
“Between my job and 3 teenage daughters I’m kept pretty busy! But when I do get some downtime I like to relax with a good book, get moving in the gym, potter around in my garden, meet up with friends, help my horse-riding daughter in the stables, and travel.”
Amanda has worked in financial services since 2001. She brings a wealth of knowledge to help our ever-growing team and is a valuable member of our accounts department.
What else do you enjoy doing Amanda?
“I love going to the gym… and when I’m not sweating away in spin classes or circuits, I enjoy socialising, spending time with family, and travelling!”
David joined the team 9 years ago and is an expert in Wills & Power of Attorney. He has a real passion for helping his clients get peace of mind via a swift, friendly and professional service so they and their families are looked after no matter what happens.

“I help coach my son’s football team and taxi him round the country for his football otherwise I spend quality time with my wife and boys and Chester the dog of course :)”
