Listen to an audio version of this information

If you are applying for a mortgage as a self-employed person or a limited company director, you will typically need to provide your Tax Calculations (SA302s) and Tax Year Overviews as proof of income. This can help evidence your income from employed or self-employed work, dividends, or property. Lenders may require you to provide these documents for multiple tax years to satisfy their affordability checks.

The HMRC website isn’t particularly user-friendly in places, but if you follow our step-by-step guide below, you should be able to access and save your Tax Calculations and Tax Year Overviews fairly easily. We’ve included images to help guide you through the process, as well as sample Tax Calculations and Tax Year Overviews so you can be confident you’re sending the correct documents to your lender or mortgage broker.
