We want to congratulate Jo, one of our star mortgage advisors, for successfully completing 3 months of challenges (culminating in a skydive) and raising money for some fantastic charities! We invited Jo to say a few words about her adventures and here’s what she had to say…
“I’m always driven to set and achieve goals, both personally and professionally, and this time I decided to aim for the sky, quite literally! In March, I took on the challenge of running 100 miles to support the charity Young Lives vs Cancer, successfully raising £250. In April, I challenged myself to complete 12,500 steps every day and I achieved that goal as well. Then, in May, I decided to go a level up… up 15,000ft to be exact. Jumping out of a plane was one of the scariest things I’ve done, but I loved every second!

The skydive was mainly for fun, but I also wanted to raise awareness for the Support Our Paras charity. This cause is close to my heart as my uncle, who I sadly never got to meet, was a 1 Para A Coy who had his life taken far too soon. My brave mum, who’s 63 years young, also did the jump and raised £155 for the charity, so a bit shout-out to her!

The jump was long overdue, having been bought for me by my husband as a Christmas present back in 2018. Although I’ve been keen to do it ever since, things just kept holding us up – namely the pandemic, the UK’s capricious weather, and my poor mum breaking a rib. But we got there in the end, finally taking to the sky on the 1st of May in Honiton, Devon.

It really was a FANTASTIC experience and my advice to anyone thinking of doing a skydive is to just get on and DO IT! You won’t be disappointed.
I’m not sure what June will bring… but now the sky truly is the limit!”
